first_imgInternational Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar joined Samajwadi Party today.Out of field for almost 4 years, the pacer met chief minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow today afternoon after which Kumar made the announcement.”I am impressed by the developmental works of our young chief minister, specially by his schemes and works related to the youth of the state. In the past four years, he had done a lot for the development of the state and his works will be a life line for the state”, Kumar said.However, Kumar said he will not contest elections as of now. “I am new in the field and for the next 2 -3 years I will learn (politics). However, if the party gives me the responsibility for any kind of publicity work, I will be more than happy”, he added.Kumar wore the Indian jersey for the last time in 2012 when he played against Pakistan in Dhaka.Kumar has taken 27 wickets in 6 test matches and 77 wickets in 68 one day matches.last_img read more
