Ellen Wants Paynesville Motorcycle Terminals Erected

first_imgPresident Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has urged the Paynesville City Corporation (PCC) to erect a motorcycle terminal or parking station for motorcyclists.She said it will avoid potential hazard when picking up and dropping passengers.The President’s request to Acting PCC Mayor C. Cyvette Gibson was in support of an appeal by Montserrado County District # 4 Representative Henry Fahnbulleh to reduce restrictions on motorcyclists from plying the principal streets of Paynesville.She was speaking during the dedication program of the Duport Road Beautification Park yesterday in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.President Sirleaf commended Mayor Gibson for the transformation of the City of Paynesville and the fencing of the Duport Road cemetery.The President said the fencing of the cemetery would dignify the dead.“Progress always brings desire for more progress, so whenever we see something like this, we think ahead for another thing to be done,” President Sirleaf said.She thanked the staff of PCC, the contractors and most especially the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) for funding the construction of the Duport Road Park.President Sirleaf appealed to members of the Legislature at the program, among them Senator Prince Johnson and Representatives Thomas Fallah, Henry Fahnbulleh and Bill Tweahway to back the confirmation of Acting Mayor Gibson.Representatives Fallah and Fahnbulleh in separate remarks commended Acting Mayor Gibson for the transformation of Paynesville and appealed to their colleagues for more budgetary support to Paynesville which has the highest population of over 115,000 in Montserrado County.Acting Mayor Gibson thanked the Special Project Team, staff and contractors as well as the residents of Paynesville and NASSCORP for their support.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
