(Photo: ANI)Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu began a day-long fast in the national capital on Monday to demand special status for the state. He will also urge the centre to fulfil promises made when Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh in 2014.The chief minister paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat before heading to Andhra Pradesh Bhavan to observe the fast.NAIDU PROTEST TODAYThe Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief will submit a memorandum to President Ram Nath Kovind on February 12.Naidu is likley to be joined by his cabinet colleagues, MPs, state legislators, and leaders of students and employees groups and mass organisations.Several leaders of different political parties including the Congress, AAP chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, NCP president Sharad Pawar and former J&K chief minister Farooq Abdullah are likely to attend the protest and express their solidarity with Naidu.A large number of protesters from Andhra Pradesh has already reached the national capital. The state government hired two special trains to ferry people to Delhi.Thousands of people thronged the main roads of Vijayawada and Guntur from the airport and staged protests sporting black dresses and empty black pots.
