FUFA to offer financial assistance to KCCA FC, Proline

(PHOTOS/File)KAMPALA – The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) as resolved to offer financial help to Uganda’s representatives in CAF club competitions.This was confirmed through a statement released by FUFA on Wednesday, July 24th.“The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Executive Committee has approved funding for CAF Club competition representatives.” Read part of the statement.However guidelines were set under which the teams will receive the funding.One of the guidelines will see FUFA assume the expenses of travel by plane and allowances for the leader of delegation.The Federation also stipulated that the expenses of travel by plane in economical class of the participating team for a minimum of 25 persons which include 18 players and 7 officials from Entebbe to the Airport of the host country within the provisions of the relevant competition regulations, shall be taken care of.However, the participating team shall be required to provide in writing to FUFA CEO, the list of the traveling contingent, 14 days to the intended date of departure.It was however noted that FUFA will not assume the expenses arising out of any charges to Air tickets originally issued.Financial help from FUFA is expected to be treated with utmost welcome by the Ugandan clubs as some have in the past missed out on representing the country on the continent.After KCCA FC secured a league and cup double in the 2016/17 season, Paidha Black Angles who were supposed to take part in the Confederations cup withdrew for financial constraints.Paidha failed to take part in the CAF Confederations Cup due to financial reasons.The Angels had earned the right to continental football after losing the Uganda Cup final in 2017.Paidha was not the only team to withdraw from representing Uganda at CAF competitions with the likes of Express FC, Vipers, among others also doing likewise in the past.For the 2019/2020 season, Uganda will be represented by KCCA FC and Proline FC in the CAF Club competitions.KCCA FC will take part in the CAF Champions League as the StarTimes Uganda Premier league holders while Proline who won the 2019 Uganda Cup will participate in the Confederations Cup.The two clubs are expected to be the first beneficiaries of the said FUFA financial help.Comments Tags: CafExpresa FCFUFAKCCA FCPaidha Black Angelstopvipers sclast_img read more
