We also want to tie in the area of sports and sports development, especially in the city. There are not many avenues for city youth to explore and we believe that its one of the issued that is in dire need and should be addressed by the committee within the next two to three years’, says Williams.Among the many ongoing projects initiated by the National Youth Council, a Youth Festival is on the cards for August 2011.Mr Williams says that the event is being held in observance of International Year of the Youth. On December 18th, 2009, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming the year commencing on August 12th, 2010 as the International Year of Youth, under the theme: Dialogue and Mutual Understanding, as declared by the United Nations.Dominica Vibes Newslast_img read more
