Islanders’ Dormet Wins Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

In a clutch performance Saturday, Dormet helped the Islanders (15-6, 10-1 SLC) clinch a share of the Southland Conference title and the No. 2 seed in the 2018 Southland Conference Tennis Tournament in Beaumont, Texas. Corpus Christi defeated Northwestern State (14-8, 8-3 SLC), the No. 3 seed in this week’s tournament, 4-3 to close the season and finish the week 2-0, taking down Central Arkansas (14-6, 7-4 SLC) 7-0 on Thursday.   FRISCO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Luna Dormet is the Southland Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. It was Dormet’s second singles win of the week after defeating Central Arkansas’ QiLi Ma 6-2, 7-5 on Thursday.
